Public Roasts DC Over Debt Ceiling And Default... UPDATED!

UPDATE: THE ENTIRE DEMOCRATIC SENATE HAS VOTED TO OWN ANY DEFAULT.
MAKE THEM!

Call these wobbly or obstructionist GOP Congressdrones and tell them to get behind the Boehner Plan!  It ain't perfect, but you go to war with the weapons you've got, and it's a material start towards our goals.  The Democrats wouldn't be so freaked about it if they weren't.

...and Congress doesn't want to hear about it.

For those of you who've called your Congressman or Senator's office and gotten through, good job. Make yourselves heard.  But for those of you whose "representative" is of the other party... good luck.  Or if your rep is one of those ego-trippers who thinks it's more important to 'reach across the aisle' for the cameras... sucks to be you.

So you may want to consider contacting OTHER Congressmen and Senators, in which case you will encounter an amazing example of DC physics: when these blowhards are blowin' hard on Fox or CNN or the Sunday talk shows they're real machers, big deal players on the national stage, but when you try to contact them directly, when they have to be held personally accountable, it's "I'm sorry, but Senator Schumer only represents New York" or "Congresswoman Hirschul only represents NY-26" and so, of course, they can only take calls from their own constituents.

First off, ALL these shmendricks take money and volunteers from all over the country, happily, eagerly, greedily, as Deborah Leigh has pointed out.  Secondly, they're legislating for the whole damn country — if they're only the Congressdrone for NY-26 why are they screwing with my Social Security in CA-28? — so you would think the people they're legislating on would have a right to make themselves heard.

Not as far as Congress is concerned, though.  They will be able to stonewall you on the phone, because they'll recognize the area code.  So here's what you do:

Go to house.gov
Find the congressdrone you want to contact. Check out the area his district covers.
Go to Mapquest, Google maps, whatever.
Find a town in their district.
Find a vacant address.  You'll probably get pop-ups of vacancies right on the map site.  Copy the address.
You are now a resident of the Congressdrone's district.  Congratulations!  E-mail away.

Don't forget these folks have local offices, sometimes several, that you can make yourself known to. Another thing to counter the staffer's "constituent" question" is that there boss took an Oath of Office that said nothing about the district or state. They should read it, because they, by extension, are held to it. It should be posted in the office. Ask them where your comments go if they don't live in the district. Take names if they aren't passing yours along. Now go storm the Hill!

Need to put the names of the Dems too. They want to keep their jobs too.

One of the Ryans was on Hannity today. No it wasn't Ron. Anyway, he said that Boehner's bill is really the same as Reid's.

If they can raise the debt limit, then I'm telling all my creditors the same. Can hardly wait to speak to customer service in India, Phillipines, Nicaragua, Argentina.... Pretty much any place but the US.
