President (then Senator) Barack Obama denied his connections to the Socialist "New Party' in 1996, in spite of existing party records and even photographic evidence...

"The 'New Party' was a political party established by the Democratic Socialists of America (the DSA) to push forth the socialist principles of the DSA by focusing on winnable elections at a local level and spreading the Socialist movement upwards. The admittedly Socialist Organization experienced a moderate rise in numbers between 1995 and 1999. By 1999, however, the Socialist 'New Party' was essentially defunct after losing a supreme court challenge that ruled the organizations "fusion" reform platform as unconstitutional."

Missile Defense Obama Style
Navy's Aegis Air/Missile Defense System Teetering on Brink of Failure...
According to Navy Times, the Aegis Air Defense System aboard the USN's Ticonderoga-class cruisers and Arleigh Burke-class destroyers is showing a steadily-increasing level of failures and unsatisfactory performance.
The principal culprit appears to be the Navy's byzantine procurement and supply system dedicated to supporting Aegis, a system so arcane and convoluted that ship commanders and weapon systems officers just cannot order necessary parts and support materials.
The result is that Aegis overall cannot perform as its advocates for the BMD role hope.
This problem is exacerbated by personnel drawdowns in the Fleets as the Navy struggles to meet budget targets. Many ships' Aegis systems are being operated by sailors struggling in assignments one and even two grades above their rank and training. Ironically, as the Navy reduces the number of sailors at the sharp end, the number of admirals to bust their chops is increasing. While our young men and women at sea are working the wonders they always do, the dockside Decaturs of the "Potomac Fleet" are making it harder and harder for them to do their jobs.
So when Commander-in-Chief Obama promises to send Aegis ships to provide our allies with ballistic missile defense, it might behoove them not to examine that gift too closely. Like most things this Administration champions, it looks good, it sounds good... but it doesn't work as advertised.

SNOUT STUCK INTO OIL DISASTER
Henry "the Snout" Waxman, along with Bart ("Dead Babies are Bad, OK, dead babies are not so bad, er, hey, look at the pretty airports!") Stupac, have found out Halliburton worked on the exploded drilling rig in the Gulf.
Fresh from his triumphal attempt to investigate major corporations' health care write-offs, in which Waxman revealed that not only did he not understand the law they were obeying, but that he didn't even know it was a law he had voted for, Waxman is now promising to grill Halliburton on the technical details of an operation he is completely unfamiliar with in a field in which he has no education, experience or understanding.
Of course, as a 40-year Congressman, that covers pretty much any field, but face it, Halliburton could tell the Snout that they mixed a triple helping of fairy dust into the concrete to make sure it held and he would have no way of credibly challenging that assertion. He hasn't even got the expertise to intelligently choose experts to challenge anything Halliburton might assert.
This is just another time-waster for the Congress and Halliburton, a money-waster for the American people, and a credibility-waster for the American press who will treat this like some kind of significant investigation.

SEIU and every teacher's union are underfunding their pension plans but have hundreds of millions of dollars to donate to Democratic candidates.
The Obama Administration has put out so much bad paper in the T-Bill market it's forced to buy its own notes with money it prints to keep the whole house of cards from collapsing.
The Obama Administration is talking about forcibly converting our private 401k's to government "accounts" and even re-banning the private ownership of gold to bring more solid cash back into its larcenous reach.
Democrat-run cities across the country are doing everything from fiddling with home assessments to raising the price on parking meters and drinking water, to support their corrupt union voting blocs.
Obama laughs as he lies about cutting our taxes. "Fees" and "charges" go up every day.
Let's face it: whatever poses it cares to strike, the Democratic Party is nothing but an organized criminal conspiracy against the American people.

Michael Steele in trouble?
Dan Riehl defends Steele in two posts, here and here. He point to two successes for the GOP, in NJ and VA, but overlooks that the RNC had to be goaded into getting involved in both campaigns by the activist base getting out ahead of it.
He ignores the national party's attempts to shove RINO candidates down the voter's throats in state after state. They have apparently learned nothing from the Scozzafava debacle.
And he raises the spectre of the GOP's dismissal of an incompetent, ethically marginal black man being used to tar the GOP with the old racism brush... as if that didn't happen regardless, frequently with Steele's own help, owing to his self-evident ignorance of the racial history of the party he's supposed to be heading.
As one of Dan's anonymous commenters puts it:
"I don't think Steele is "good" at his job, all of his appearances are somewhat random, he doesn't stick to any message. However, having a black guy as the face of the RNC is VERY positive, not becuase it will woe blacks to vote for Republican candidates, it won't, but because it begins to dispel the now well entrenched narrative that the GOP is full of racists."
In other words, keep the token even if he's no good at the job. A genuinely racist sentiment fit for a Democrat. Steele needs to go, and Cornyn and Sessions need to step down from the Senate and Congressional campaign committees since they have demonstrated an absolute inability to listen to what the party wants in a candidate.
