An Experiment in Adjusting an Alcohol-based Reality Filter.
The more beer you drink, the more the world seems to make sense. I'm not sure if this is the beer's fault, or the world's. Experiments proceed.
For pigeonholing purposes, I consider myself a South Park Conservative: I believe in Loose Women and Tight Borders but I'm getting anime porn and legally mandated lounges for day laborers...further adjustment to the model may be needed.

California Incumbent Refuses to Debate Challenger,
Blows Off Dinner Honoring Law Enforcement, Firefighters
in His Own District
Longtime Congressional incumbent Brad Sherman (D. - 27th District, CA) has been keeping a low profile this election year. Save for a couple of carefully scripted Potemkin Town Halls in front of pre-packed safe crowds of union members and government workers, he's been largely invisible in his district.
He continues to refuse to debate his Republican challenger, Mark Reed.
He has little or no visible ground game in his district.
Now he has blown off an annual event, the Woodland Hills American Legion dinner honoring the law-enforcement and fire-fighters of the year in the community, that he had committed to attend.
Mr. Sherman seems to have a problem with meeting the voters of his district this year.
Howard Berman, the 28-year Congressman who heads the House Foreign Affairs Committee, deigned to return to his district for a meeting with the Sherman Oaks Homeowner's Association.
He stood there in the corner schmoozing while the Association board talked about the squatter problem in Sherman Oaks: so many houses have been foreclosed south of Ventura Boulevard that a large squatter community has sprung up, moving into and in many cases even running businesses out of the foreclosed homes.
Sherman Oaks is one of the more upscale communities at this end of the San Fernando Valley, and south of Ventura is its more upscale end. To have a squatter situation like that, with the accompanying increases in crime and squalor, in such a neighborhood is a telling indictment of this Administration's handling of the current economic meltdown.
Yet when Berman took the podium to speak, he seemed never to have heard a word they said. After applauding his own vote on Obamacare, to tepid applause, he praised his own vote for the stimulus bill... the one that has done nothing to help the people of Sherman Oaks. He repeated Obama's debunked claim of 2.8 million jobs created, while boasting of all the jobs the bill was bringing to his district through the government programs it funded... while ignoring the fact those jobs were going to exisiting state and city empoloyees who didn't live in his district.
He didn't seem to be able to pick up on the connection between the trouble people were having getting loans and the Administration's demand that the lenders start keeping larger cash reserves against what Geithner has called "a future government intervention."
He knew nothing about the judicially imposed economic and ecological disaster in the Central Valley, where hundreds of miles of farms have been destroyed by having their water turned off, and didn't seem to see why having no farms might not be a good thing for California. He suggested that he'd heard the water had been turned on again, which is not correct, in fact, further cuts are imminent.
He thought Ahmedinijad getting the Bomb might be a bad thing, but didn't know what to do about it.
He supported the Ground Zero mosque.
He did agree to debate his GOP opponent, Merlin Froyd, which is a change from a week ago when his didn't know he had an opponent. Berman has done virtually no campaigning in the District he has come to view as his private fief.
He supported repealing the Bush tax cuts for the upper income brackets, ignoring the fact that the people listening to him were IN the upper income brackets.
There was no sense of urgency in the man, and damned little, in my opinion, of any real interest in the concerns of his constituents. He had nothing to say to squatters but was all over carbon credits, loves 'em.
Now for someone who treats the interests of the people with genuine passion, consider his opponent, Merlin Froyd...
John Conyers -- helped his wife to deliver on deals after she accepted bribes — felony charges for wife and a three-year sentence
Chris Dodd -- Took $1,000,000 "mortgage" from Angelo Mozilo and Countrywide
while on the Senate banking committee to pay for Irish "cottage" — no charges
William "Cold Cash" Jefferson — Kickback money in his fridge — tried and convicted
Diane Feinstein — steered between 1.3 and 3 BILLION dollars in no-bid VA
contracts to companies she and her husband had interests in — no charges
Maxine Waters helped her husband's bank -- Charged
Barney Frank -- Slept with Fannie Mae chairman he was supposed
to be regulating --No charges
Charlie Rangel -- Obtained rent-controlled NYC apartments — charges pending
Nancy Pelosi — steered over $200 million in no-bid government contracts to
companies she and her family have interests in — no charges.
Something seems out of balance here. One of these things is obviously not like the other... what oh what could the difference be?
As a white man and de facto raaaaacist, I for one welcome the Democratic Party's return to its roots, and congratulate Ms. Pelosi for her willingness to reach across the aisle.
If you're black, no slack —
if you're white, s'alright!
Democrats — upholding a proud tradition of race relations since 1860...
As someone who was a committed Democrat from my first vote for Jimmy Carter 'til I finally left the party in 2004, I have to say this is a banner day for the party I grew up older in.
Proud Democrats resurrect cherished traditions in
support of the most racially-sensitive President
since Woodrow Wilson
President Barack Hussein Obama, a man with not one drop of African-American blood in his body, went on The View and described the millions of real African-Americans who voted for him as a "mongrel breed."
“I shall never fight in the armed forces with a Negro by my side... Rather I should die a thousand times, and see Old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds.”
— Robert C. Byrd, in a letter to Sen. Theodore Bilbo (D-MS), 1944.
And Shirley Sherrod, finacial patron of thousands of nonexistent African-American farmers with our money, suggested that Obama might be out of touch with those "mongrels": "And, yes, she said she meant to suggest that President Obama was in need of a history lesson. “I need to have him down there so I can take him around and show him some of that history,” she said of President Obama..."
Meanwhile, in that hotbed of progressive thought, New York City, Democratic Congressman Mike McMahon felt obliged to warn the voters that his GOP rival was seeking to buy the election with perfidious, insidious "Jewish money."
" ...if the international Jewish financiers in and outside Europe should succeed..." A. Schickelgruber, 1939
"I wish I could have lived to see this day." Senator Robert J. Byrd (D. — Stiff)
So nice to see them coming out at last. But it's annoying as hell I went and changed parties when there was so much yummy racism in the one I just left...
Democrats run home early so they won't have to vote on real job-killing bills (their jobs).
So Obama, Reid and Pelosi, along with lesser and even dimmer Congressional lights like Jay ("Bush used psychological pressure on me") Rockefeller, Chris ("Waitress, there's a fly in my pants") Dodd and Barney (deleted out of sheer disgust -TBL) Frank are planning a sore-loser's frenzy of a lame duck session after the midterms, when the outgoing grifters think they will have nothing to lose. Never mind that we don't want these bills and they KNOW we don't want these bills or they wouldn't be hiding from them.
Items back on the table include card check for union voters, federal voter registration, cap and trade, and all the pork low-rent thieves like Spector, Rangel and Bennett can carve up between them, to be doled out so their friends back home will take care of them in their dotage...
"If Apple had continued to reject such material they would have severely compromised my right to free political speech because if political discourse is too controversial to discuss in public online spaces like the app store, where else will such discourse be banned?
"It’s nice that Apple decided to do the right thing is this case and I look forward to having everyone download the application which is available for free on itunes.
In a previous post, I ragged on Los Angeles Congressional Candidate David Benning for interrupting a Tax Day protest to make a speech. That was a bonehead move and I don't regret dumping on him for it.
That said, and as you've all seen now that you've watched the GOP Forum video, all ONE HOUR AND FIFTY THREE MINUTES OF IT that I uploaded VERY SLOWLY, I have to admit that Benning did a hell of a job there. He was focused, prepared and articulate; I'd have no trouble supporting the man I saw on the podium at the Forum if he wins the primary.
Therefore, I'm adding a link to his campaign site to my links page for your consideration. Thank you.
Soiled and spoiled sports star Tiger Woods today acknowledged a sexual fling with Congressman Bart Stupak, who sold out his alleged commitment to the pro-life movement for less than a million dollars' worth of asphalt runways in his district.
"It was really kind of inevitable," said the perverted pro golfer. "I mean, a whore is a whore. I pretty much had to take a shot at it."
Woods acknowledged that he was in the middle of an ongoing long-term affair with the entire Democratic Congress. "Look, they showed how cheap, how easy they were. They just put it right out there. It's not like I was the only one going for it."
Woods refused to commit on exacrtly how many Representatives he had had sex with so far. He was more forthcoming on specific individuals. Dennis Kucinich? "Oh, you mean Squeaky?" Pat Kennedy? "Boy brought his own roofies, damn." Maxine Waters, Diane Watson? Woods paused. "I try not to have sex outside my own race. But I don't want to discriminate." Nancy Pelosi? A sigh, "It's going to come to that, eventually. I mean, it's a question of how far you're willing to go..."
Okay, it's time to send Congress -- ALL of Congress, the Pelosis, the Reids, the Franks, the Dodds, the Waxmen, the Boxers, the Feinsteins, the Lincolns, the Snowes, all the pink little progressives and all the shambling, nearsighted RINOs -- the Christmas greeting they deserve and we so ardently intend:
CHRISTMASCOALFORCONGRESS!
We need, each and every one of us, to send one piece of coal each to our Senators and individual Congressdrones. Now there's no point in sending the coal straight to DC; it will only get sidetracked into the Homeland Security inspection and irradiation depot... but every one of these parasites has a local office or offices and that's where it should go. You can get the home office puddles for these leeches through their respective websites via
www.senate.gov and www.house.gov
In the interests of economy, you can send a charcoal briquet instead if preferred.
Don't Delay!
Fill a Political Hack's Stocking Today!
UPDATE: Deborah Leigh makes a great suggestion. FAXED coal could make an excellent stocking stuffer if you don't want to/can't go to the trouble of sending actual coal or charcoal...
