Excellent, Richard M!
In the early days of the Afghan war, I did my very small bit by sending box after box of supplies to soldiers who had requested such things as sunflower seeds, candy, magazines, rat traps to get rid of the rats around their tents (because of the cobras the rats attracted), and plastic tubs to store their snacks and food in (because of the rats). I don't any more, because the wars are so entrenched now that our soldiers are supplied with most of what they need, but I will never forget that these are the things our soldiers ask of us while they're off in some dung heap country defending our freedoms.
