Thank You, Eric Alter! Special Needs Mother Tears Strip Off Obama in Invitational Column...

Obama was a bad President.  Among the 850 or so answers...

Asianeyes704 1 day agoCollapse
Hmm, where do I start. Obamacare will cut my FSA account from $4800 to $2500 by the year 2013.  As a single mother making under 50k with a son who is autistic, I cannot began to explain how that hurts me.  I have taken on a second job to ensure I will have enought money to continue his care and offset the huge tax bill given to me (especially since I can no longer deduct my medical expenses after you raised it to 10% of your income from 7.5%).   You are a terrible President when you take the only parent a special needs child has and forces her to be out of the home in order to keep the same level of care she has for her son!  You made me choose between memories with my son while he is growing or giving him the treatment he needs to be independant one day. How sad of a man and party you are!

I, Cloddius, Episode II...

Emperor Bloomberg Bans Clergy from 9/11 Ceremony, Takes Occasion to Endorse Ground Zero Mosque.  HT: Mind-Numbed Robot

And New Yorkers wonder why the rest of the country no longer watches their shows, buys their books, reads their papers and magazines, or in general gives a crap WHAT they have to say anymore.

As far as I can tell, the only reason New York exists nowadays is to make Californians feel better about themselves.

They used to say, "Too dumb for New York, too ugly for L.A."  Apparently New Yorkers are aiming for both now, perhaps in hopes of being admitted to Massachusetts.

The tragedy in this for New York, besides the insult to the beliefs of so many of the 9/11 victims and their families, is this:  Bloomberg is all they've got.  Seriously.  Look at the New York political scene and tell me who they have who can make a credible run for mayor.

It's the same problem the Democrats have with Obama; they've drained the well of viable candidates to the lees and the straw's full of mud; who do they have to credibly primary him — or follow him?

Rick Perry's Immigration Policy... It's a Killer!

Six Houston police officers have been killed or injured since 2006 by illegal immigrants.

Officer Kevin Will

Officer Rodney Johnson

Officer Richard Salter

Officer Gary Gryder

Officer Henry Canales

Officer Nash Patel

Rick Perry refuses to endorse Arizona's AB 1070 immigration enforcement act, describing it as "inappropriate for Texas," while flashily demanding the US send troops to the border.  Is he willing to enforce the law or not?

While in Mexico in 2007, Perry called for "... free flow of individuals between these two countries who want to work and want to be an asset to our country and to Mexico.” while at the same time condemning sanctuary cities in the US.

In the meantime, cops and private citizens in Texas are dying at the hands of criminal indocumentados while Governor Perry straddles the fence.

Which is it, Governor?  One of the things that ended Huckabee's campaign run was his coddling of criminals that led to the deaths of four policemen.  What makes you different?

Does Rick Perry really believe that illegal immigration and the load it puts on our social services and employment is not a factor in our economic woes?  Has he ever visited a big-city emergency room?

George Lopez on the Rebound

Having distinguished himself in the past month by threatenting to move to Canada if Sarah Palin was elected, getting his TBS talk show thrown off the air by Conan O'Brian — and that's just sad in itself — and then divorcing the woman who saved his life by donating him a kidney, the comedian with the gigantic head and the even bigger mouth has hit upon a daring strategy to recoup his fading celebrity cred:

(Hollywood Reporter) — "Struggling comic George Lopez will appear in a very special episode of Great White North where he will try to talk Bob or Doug Mckenzie into donating him a liver."

Failing that:

(TMZ) — "Canned cable talk host George Lopez has agreed to make a sex tape with Kathy Griffin in Charlie Sheen's favorite bar, with a special guest appearance by Jan Michael Vincent."

Sources close to Lopez attempted to continue outline future career moves by the comic, only to be interrupted by the assembled press throwing microphones, cameras and digital recorders...

Rick Perry's Immigration Policy...

"A day after Gov. Jerry Brown signed a law giving thousands of illegal immigrant college students access to private scholarship funds, immigrant advocates said they are aiming for a far bigger prize: California public grants." (LA Times)

"When he first took office as governor in 2001, Perry went to Mexico and bragged about his law that granted “the children of undocumented workers” special in-state tuition at Texas colleges, the first state in the nation to do so.
“The message is simple,” Perry concluded, “educacion es el futuro, y si se puede.” Education is the future, and (echoing Cesar Chavez’s slogan) yes we can." (Politico)
Rick Perry's pander to indocumentados appears to come from a sentimental heart (“to punish these young Texans for their parents’ actions is not what America has always been about.”), but the damage it does as the same as Brown's cold and calculating sell-out.  A bad idea doesn't get better because you mean well, Governor.

A SERIOUS LIBERTARIAN QUIZ...

...serious answers appreciated, but honestly, not expected.

Larry Libertarian owns a farm, Liberty Acres, that he runs alongside the scenic Liberty River in Liberty County.  It's his property and he grows what he wants on it.

Lennie and Louie Libertarian buy the lot upriver.  It's their property to do with what they want so they open a factory, LenLou's Liberty Lawn Furniture, making practical, affordable plastic furniture.

But PCB's from Lennie and Louie's factory are being dumped into the Liberty River and contaminating Larry's cropland.

Larry complains to Lennie and Louie but they say they can do what that want on their property and don't see why they should be put to the expense of cleaning up the PCB's.  Since Liberty County of course has no EPA there is no agency Larry can complain to.

There IS a civil court in Libertyville, the Liberty County seat, so Larry takes his complaint there.  But LenLou's Liberty Lawn Furniture employs over half the working household heads in Liberty County, and Larry loses on a split jury.

In a libertarian context, what recourse does Larry have in this situation?
