IRS HARRASSMENT OF TEA PARTIES...? Uh, my bad...

Awkward...

Yeah.

That was me.

How do I know this? Because back in 2009, I posted a right-wing anti-tax video on YouTube.  It has since been removed, by sinister government forces trying to cover their tracks, but nothing ever really goes away....

Now, plainly, if an anti-Muslim Youtube video has the power to drive all Islam into an embassy-burning, diplomat-killing frenzy, as our beloved, truthful and honest President and Secretary of State insist, then OBVIOUSLY a right-wing antitax video is powerful enough to goad the IRS and its 94%+ Democratic union workers into similar spasms of madness.

So there it is.  I did it.  Relax, Mr. Issa, I'm prepared to take my medicine.

UPDATED— Mannish Woman Who Hangs Around Dikes Implicated In School Shooting Terror Case

Rachel Maddow, the MSNBC commentator inexplicably but perhaps not entirely seriously described as "... funny, and she's just a cut above everyone else on that execrable channel," by some conservative commentators, has been implicated in the forced closing of hundreds of Broward County schools directly as a result of the misleading editorial practices of her program and network.
Maddow did a feature on the appearance of conservative talk radio host Joyce Kaufman at a July 3rd Tea Party event, decrying Kauffman's vicious, hate-filled speech about gun ownership at the rally and on the air.  The problem was, the tape was inexplicably not vicious or hate-filled enough to make Kaufman's point, so she and her network did what any responsible, professional, ethical journalists would have done.

They, um, trimmed it, y'know? Punched it up.  Spiced it up a little bit.

And boy howdy, did they.  They spiced it up so hot and hyped it so heavily that Ellisa Martinez, a Green Party member in Broward County was inspired by the spirit of civic virtue to call Kaufman's show and announce her husband had just grabbed his guns and run out the door, and that there was going to be a school shooting in support of Kaufman's edited position.  As a result, 300  Broward County schools were locked down, the 275,000 children held inside closed buildings and unable to return home.

There was the usual rash of automatic accusations against right-wing extremists and 'teabaggers'.

This week, a grinning Martinez pled guilty to sending the threat, and is expected to receive 12-18 months against a possible 5-year maximum sentence.

There has been no discussion of the case or its conduct on MSNBC or by Maddow.  It's almost like "unapproved things unhappen," as PJ O'Rourke once put it.

UPDATE: In an exclusive statement to this blog, talk show host Joyce Kaufman states, "I have not heard from MSLSD and I am considering legal action against multiple parties who were complicit."

A Tea Partier Considers the Democratic Party...

"...They call me savage, monster on four legs,
To feed their vanity — a master race
Of whose learning and liquor I have tasted;
Two-legged gods, whose boots I licked and feet kissed,
Only to find that, beneath their fair skin,
They are as seedy as I am misshapen.
And, as any native monkey will tell you:
Learning and liquor are peanuts when bartered
For land and liberty.

And now, armed with language and skilled in cursing —
To outsmart this learned philistine whose skull
I cannot crush, nor can I burn his books —
Cursing shall be my joy ’til he be driven to sea,
From whence he came — and I regain sovereignty."

Heley,Scott in South Carolina Landslide for Tea Party and Conservatives!

Now let me get this straight: Republicans in South Carolina, the slave state, the racist state, the nasty inbred Baptist redneck state, the state that fired the first shot in the Civil War... just selected an Indian woman and an African-American man to be their candidates,  while the Democrats voted overwhelmingly for...a felony sex offender.
"What the f***?No, I mean it,seriously,WHAT THE F***?!"

Shocking TeaParty Exposé-- a Three Beers Later Exclusive!

This truly appalling video was smuggled out of the latest round of Tea Party rallies, confirming the worst suspicions of decent Americans everywhere!

"I knew I was right! I knew it!" giggled Keith Olberman. "Now please, somebody watch my show"

"Did I warn you morons?  Did I warn you?" bellowed political commentator and gravitic anomaly Rosie O'Donnell, forgetting she wasn't talking to her adopted children. She went on to deny any involvement in the Guatemalan sinkhole and announced her lawsuit to get her three seats back on The View.

In related news, Sarah Palin spoke at the rally and endorsed Stonewall Jackson.

Tea Party Bags Bob Bennett!

UPDATE:  I'm seeing a lot of reports in the MSM and blogs that Bennett was "driven" from office.

This is exactly why this election will be such an important referendum on incumbency.

Bennett was not "driven" from office.  His term was not renewed, by his constituents, at whose pleasure he serves. This is exactly how it is supposed to work.

Bob Bennett has, had, no right nor title to the office of Senator for the State Of Utah.  None of these barnacle-encrusted ingrown  fossils does.   Yet they act like they do, and the toadying media treats their tenure as a done deal, and these "public servants" feel no qualms about gerrymandering districts or ruining the reputations and lives of good men and women who challenge them, to pass their fiefs on to their handpicked successors or even children.

The best of them are engaged in a comprehensive betrayal of the trust of the people who sent them to Washington anytime they go along with this corrupt thieving DC system.  The worst of them are indulging in an  organized criminal conspiracy against the citizenry that Ferdinand Marcos could only dream of emulating... and there are far more of the worst than the best.

The people of Utah told Bennet exactly how they wanted him to vote on major issues.  He ignored their will and now it has, rightly, cost him his employment.

ORIGINAL POST
Utah's sitting senator, Bob Bennett, lost his  bid for re-election after being eliminated in the second round of balloting at the GOP state convention, the AP is reporting.
"It's time to get rid of the incumbents," said Kyle Hosman, a 39-year-old North Ogden delegate supporting (GOP candidate Mike) Lee. "Quite frankly I'm disgusted by what I've seen in Congress the past 10 years."

The defining trend of this election as a referendum on incumbency itself continues.

GOP Wannabe tries to hijack Tea Party rally...

"Well, Sheriff, you've got this crowd gathered here, and that's half my job,
so I figured I'd just do a little business..."

GOP primary candidate David Benning, one of several campaigning in the GOP primary to run against Henry Waxman,  attended the April 15 San Fernando Valley Patriots Tea Party tax protest  in Woodland Hills on April 15th...

... or rather, he graciously decided to let them attend him.  According to attendees at the rally, marchers were called away from the demonstration along the road for what was described as a speech by the party organizers.  Instead they were 'treated' --briefly,  before most walked away -- to an aborted campaign speech by Benning, whose supporters apparently decided they could call the Tea Partiers away from their scheduled, announced activity in mid-event to listen to their candidate.  Benning was subsequently conspicuous from his absence among the marchers.

Several of the marchers attending loudly expressed the opinion that they had been disrespected by Benning and his staff.

Other GOP politicians have reached out to the Tea Party movement in Los Angeles, among them Ari David, also running to run against Waxman.  Most other candidates however, see the sense and good manners in walking among the demonstrators and acting like a guest at their event, rather than assuming they are its point.

It was a weirdly tone-deaf gesture on the part of the Benning campaign; Benning himself has managed campaigns for other candidates and should have known better.  But it is a useful indicator of character for GOP voters come the primary.

Tea Party Tax Protest Woodland Hills CA April 15th, 2010

I'd say maybe 250 people showed up by the end of the event.  No sinister sophisiticated lefty infiltrators or counterprotestors noted.
